'Brows are sisters, never twins.'
Step by step : 1,2,3,4,5 = Browpow
Hey ladies! Ok, so Iv'e had some requests to show you how to shape your brows. There are lots of different ways that makeup artists shape and develop that sought after brow, from pencil to eye shadow, everyone's brows are individual! Being a natural blonde myself I have actually turned to the dark side and embraced the fact I have natural thin fair eyebrows. But through the power of celeBROWty and the constant want for thicker brows I had experimented and played around with finding what suits me and developed techniques using products that I LOVE !
Previously last year I worked for Benefit Cosmetics and became a fan of some of their most iconic products! So wha'ts in my brow kit ?
Products used : //Benefit Brow-Zings// Benefit High Brow//Benefit Speed Brow//Benefit Boi-ing No.1// Benefit They're Real mascara//
If your thinking really all of that for brows? Well each step is quick and easy- I will also give you more affordable options to each product as i know all together this is costly, but i built my makeup kit over time! x
So here is my step by step on how to shape eyebrows !
- Step 1 ( Tinting the brows- optional)
As I am a blonde my first step is tinting my brows ( I only do this twice a month) with Eylure Dybrow in Black. This is completely optional however much more easy than people think. - If you would like me to show you a demo on how to easily tint your brows with this product please leave a comment below ! x
- Step 2 (Brush through the eye brows) - use clean brow brush or Benefit's : Speed Brow
If you don't own an eyebrow brush you don't have to go out and buy one! Simple take an old mascara brush, wash it with shampoo until clean, and whala! Brow brush ! - Brush all brows upwards and into your desired shape. I personally brush my front eyebrows up and trim them, and brush the rest of my eyebrows outwards to create a tapered effect. I also use Benefits Speed brow to add more brown and to set the brushed brows in place. Speed Brow by Benefit is a gel which sets the brows into place.- If you have bushy brows this may be the only product for you as it adds a little colour too, however with thinner brows like mine I need to add a little more depth. Cheaper alternative option- Remember your home made brow brush? Spray with hair spray or hair gel to fix brushed brows into place !
My personal choice is this brow kit from Benefit cosmetics called Brow-zings. At £23.50 it seems a little steep to most however, this kit is a fantastic all-in-one! You will get- instructions how to create the perfect benebrow- hard angle brush- blending brush- small tweezers (which my sister nabbed!)-wax, powder and a small mirror ! Cheaper alternative - Sleek Brow Kit £8.49.
I have used this kit for 4 years now and completely believe in the product. This usually lasts me around 4-5 months and when i run out of wax, the brow powder can create a fab smokey eye shadow! There are three shades Light, Medium and Dark. - I use Medium and Dark (medium for day, dark for night).
Take the hard angle brush and dip it in wax first then powder. Run a thin line under the base of your brow leaving a small section of brow unfilled at the front. This frames the brows shape: (refer to block 3 in opening image)
Huge tip! -The thin tip of the hard angle brush should be at the bottom -brush should touch brow like this /-----
Next take the shading brush and fill in the rest of the brow with the powder. Don't be afraid to create a ticker bigger brow, add more wax to draw outside of the brow. Remember, still leave the front open.
With the front, shade lighter to create that natural look- or for another natural effect, take the hard angle brush and create fine brush strokes at the front part of the brow to give the effect of natural hair like so (created on my hand today, i went for the bolder look as i was going out in my step by step image) :
Make sure the edge of your brush is really flat, add wax and powder together and flick with light strokes upwards ( point of the brush should be at the bottom of brow)!

- Step 4 ( Highlight that brow !!)
To clean up the brow, take a flat eye shadow brush and a concealer 2 shades lighter than your foundation and sweep underneath the brow ( refer to block 4 in opening image). This will highlight and brighten the brow extenuating its beautiful shape. I use Benefits Boi-ing No.1 as the concealer cleans up any uneven lines and blends really well into any eyes shadows!
- Step 5 (optional - Run dried mascara through brow)
I take an old really dry and dead mascara and run it through my brow just to darken and pick up any faint hairs to create a bushier look. This is completely optional! For blondes i would use a dead brown mascara and for brunette to black hair use a black mascara! (When i say dead, i mean very dry not much colour or product left!)
And we are DONE !
I have written so much, however it only takes me 5-10 mins on my brows! I hope this has been helpful, and if you have any other questions on your brows, what mite work for you or more hints and tips, please get in touch! I have tried to limit what I have written as I could go on for ever about brows, but just to get you started I think this is perfectly enough!
Remember your eye brows will always be sisters, never twins!
